There will be te chnical exercises\, but also plenty of time for integration and playfulnes s through dancing.\nThe workshop is designed for people with some prior ex perience with CI or solid experience in other movement diciplines. If you have quesitons\, feel invited to reach out to us.\n\n\nAbout the TEACHERS \nVEGA LUUKKONEN\nMovement Educator\, Dancer\, Facilitator is a dancer\, p erformance-artist & bodyworker made in Finland.\nShe studied dance & theat re pedagogy in Helsinki at the Theatre Academy of Finland\, where she comp leted her Master´s degree in 2008. Currently she is co-hosting ROOTED IN MOTION\, 10 months modular training in Contact Improvisation in Berlin wit h her long-term colleague\, Hugh Stanier.\nVega is an expert in Contact Im provisation (CI)\, and teaches at festivals\, events & workshops across th e world. She has danced Contact Improvisation since she was a teenager\, a nd developed first her practice in the Finnish contact community.\nAfter h er studies she begun travel & teach internationally\, having now more than 30 years of experience with Contact Improvisation. Her movement is inform ed & inspired by contemporary dance\, somatics\, aikido\, floor-work\, sof t acrobatics\, partnering & developmental movement patterns.\nRecently\, s he is more & more interested in deeper understanding of the underlying pri nciples of Contact Improvisation\, leading into fine tuning\, attention to detail\, deep listening\, and presence.\nShe seeks ways to facilitate und erstanding of movement fundamentals\, while staying connected to our own i nterest & journey of exploration\, where curiosity can stay most alive to discovery. Her classes are playful\, physical\, fun and creative.\nShe als o works with collective scores & composition\; expanding out from duets in to trios & group-compositions\, seeing also solo-improvisation as vital pa rt of contact improvisation. She understands dance as a combination of tec hnique & flow\; form & freedom\; being & doing.\nMATHILDE MENSINK\nDancer \, singer\, and dance teacher/facilitator.\nMathilde holds a BA in Contemp orary Dance Practices from the Iceland University of the Arts. Since gradu ating\, she has worked primarily with Contact Improvisation\, somatic prac tices\, teaching\, and facilitation.\nShe first encountered Contact Improv isation in Copenhagen in 2013 and has returned to it ever since as a sourc e of nourishment\, play\, community\, and curious exploration. Her work is informed by contemporary dance\, somatic practices and music\, alongside an ongoing interest in developing sustainable practices that integrate tec hnical precision with nervous system awareness\, playfulness and creative expression\, ultimately inviting a greater sense of wholeness.\nShe enjoys holding space for deep immersions\, the unknown\, and the quirky\, playfu l\, wild and tender aspects of embodied experience. She has taught Contact Improvisation in Copenhagen and Berlin and has been an active part of the international CI community in Berlin.
